What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping and Transportation Worker position at RLC, LLC?
RLC, LLC is looking for a Shipping and Transportation worker to join our team. This position works in the warehouse and verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment. This position also transports items to and from local vendors as well as other company locations by driving a Company vehicle. The schedule is Monday - Friday 7:00 am to 4:00 pm.
Responsibilities:
A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED required. To perform this job successfully, and individual should have computer knowledge of Contact Management systems; Database software; Internet software, Inventory software; Order processing systems; Spreadsheet software and Word processing software.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Valid drivers license is required. Forklift driver certification highly desired.

Ability to work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities:
- Maintain log sheet of mileage and gas receipts daily
- Transport items to and from local vendors
- Ensure all material is delivered to the proper location and items are properly packaged to prevent damage
- Verify actual items being shipped match shipping records and/or shipping manifest
- Obtain proper signatures for pickup and/or deliveries
- Load and unload items using proper lifting techniques or lifting aids as required by company policy to prevent personal injury and/or damage to company property
- Maintain various files and records - both computerized and hard copy files
- Perform shipping duties for vendors using FedEx shipping manager ensuring proper documentation available to include hazmat paperwork if necessary
- Compile shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping and receiving schedules, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes and rates
- Ensure all material is boxed/packaged to prevent damage
- Assist in receiving, storing and delivering tools, items and supplies
