Industrial Machine Operator
Temp-to-Perm Opportunity
Shift: 2nd Shift (10-hour)
Pay Rate: $18.00 – $20.00/hr

Job Summary
Sets up and operates automatic machines to produce small to medium-size hose and air ducts. Coordinates the assembly of wire helix with reinforced thread, covered by vinyl extrusion. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity with the potential for permanent hire.
Essential Functions
- Perform routine setups, working from prints and procedures.
- Change mandrels for different diameter sizes.
- Maintain proper machine speeds.
- Control extruder temperatures, pressures, and speeds.
- Check belt and wire tensions and mandrel speeds.
- Maintain close tolerances.
- Keep hoppers filled with the proper compounds and colors.
- Alternate between machines as needed.
- Use digital equipment to perform quality control checks, and maintain required charting.
- Complete production reports.
Secondary Duties
- Report machine wear and malfunctions.
- Assist Process Technicians with complicated or unusual setups.
- Perform end trim or packing as needed.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED.
- Quality: Able to perform statistical process control (SPC) requirements to verify product quality.
- Experience: Over 1 year of experience to achieve proficiency on different products and machines.
- Skills: Mechanical aptitude, plus the manual dexterity to perform varied work to close tolerances.
Physical and Special Requirements
- Continuous standing.
- Good hand/eye coordination.
- Good visual ability, required for belt trim.
- Able to climb ladders to hoppers.
- Communicates effectively, and gives and receives instructions.
