The Shift Supervisor is responsible for effectively managing the production process in order to maintain the appropriate quality product in the safest, most cost-effective and efficient manner possible under the direction of the Production Manager. | |
- Provides leadership to the production employees. Evaluate performance; provide technical and other training and support
- Manage and support the production employees and the operators to select and execute the best way of meeting the production goals
- Direct and monitor operation and assure proper setup, maintenance, adjustment, lubrication and availability of equipment. Diagnose and correct problems in setup and operation of equipment to assure production meets standards of quality and quantity. Assure efficient and effective use of personnel, material and equipment
- Assign work, instruct and schedule employees, conduct performance appraisals of personnel and recommend for wage change, promotion, transfer, discipline or termination. Interpret and assure observance of all Company policies and rules
- Responsible to make sure that production proceeds smoothly and stays within budget. Oversee the production process, reducing costs wherever possible
- Responsible for ensuring a safe work environment and promoting a positive safety culture
- Makes sure that products are produced on time and are of expected quality
- Monitor the production process to make sure that it stays on schedule and correct any problems that may arise
- Develop and create ways and facility tools to make the production process more efficient
- Support CIP and other “lean” production techniques
- Perform Embossing/Printing duties if needed
- Adapt staffing on different product lines to actual needs, minimize inventory levels and to react quickly to changing customer demands
- Communicate expected delays/deviations in a timely manner with all departments if they need this information
- Adhere to Quality Specifications and production SOC’s
- Working with Process Engineer and Quality personnel

Job Qualifications (Minimum requirements representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.) |
- High School Diploma and 5 years manufacturing experience
- Sound process knowledge and experience in blown film
- Knowledge about customers´ expectations regarding the products produced

- … Must have knowledge of manufacturing production environment preferably related to the plastics industry
