What are the responsibilities and job description for the Falcon 50EX Captain position at Rk492llc?
Captain – 2007 Falcon 50EX Pro Line 21
Location: Gary/Chicago International Airport (KGYY)
We are seeking a highly professional and experienced Captain to join the flight operations team for a 2007 Falcon 50EX based in Gary, Indiana. This aircraft operates under both Part 91 and Part 135 on the Executive Jet Management (EJM) certificate. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the highest standards of safety, airmanship, and customer service while contributing to a positive and efficient team environment.
Position Overview
The captain is responsible for the safe, legal, and efficient operation of the Falcon 50EX across a mix of owner and charter flights. The aircraft averages 400–450 flight hours annually, with operations typically split between approximately 200 hours Part 91 and 200–250 hours Part 135.
The schedule operates on a 14-days available / 7-days off rotation, with monthly duty days varying based on operational requirements. Duty days average 9-12 days per month, however operational demands may at times extend duty days beyond this average. Trip lengths range from single-day trips to multi-day itineraries. Flights are generally scheduled at least one week in advance, although 1–2 day short-notice assignments may occur. While the schedule includes weekend and holiday operations, the owners recognize the importance of major holidays such as Thanksgiving and Christmas and efforts are made to have crews home for these holidays when operationally feasible.
The captain will join a three-pilot team supported by a dedicated maintenance technician, contributing to a stable and collaborative work environment. The aircraft owners are long-term corporate aviation users with a 15-year history of aircraft ownership and a strong appreciation for corporate aviation. They value professionalism, transparency, consistency, and maintain a positive, respectful relationship with flight department personnel. The ownership culture is relaxed, with casual attire (jeans and T-shirts) for owner and business flights, while standard EJM uniform requirements apply for all retail charter operations.

Candidates must reside within a two-hour drive of KGYY. This allows residency in Illinois, Indiana, or Michigan. A company I-Pass is provided to cover toll expenses during commute.
