The Manager, Operational Excellence is responsible for leading network-wide rapid response and deployment efforts to stabilize operations, improve performance, and ensure consistent execution of standardized processes across warehouse facilities. This role provides both strategic direction and hands-on leadership, partnering with site leadership and senior stakeholders to solve complex operational challenges and drive sustainable performance improvements across the network.
This position reports directly to the Sr. Director of Transformation & SWAT.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead and manage deployment efforts across the warehouse network, prioritizing high-impact operational needs
Direct, coach, and develop team members to ensure consistent execution and high performance
- Partner with site and senior leadership to assess operational challenges, identify root causes, and implement corrective action plans
- Own the execution and reinforcement of SOPs, process standards, and best practices across all supported facilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for deployment engagements, providing updates and insights to leadership
Oversee on-site execution of critical initiatives, ensuring alignment to timelines, scope, and expected outcomes
- Drive accountability for performance improvements, ensuring solutions are sustainable and measurable
- Analyze network-wide KPIs to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for intervention
- Collaborate with The Manager of Operational Standards & Process Excellence, Innovation & Implementation, and Operations leadership to align on strategic priorities and continuous improvement initiatives
- Lead post-engagement reviews, documenting results, lessons learned, and opportunities for network-wide improvements
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Deep understanding of warehouse processes, labor management, and performance metrics
- Advanced problem-solving and root cause analysis capabilities
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and lead cross-functional initiatives
- Champion fluid communication, collaboration, and continuous learning/improvement initiatives
- Ability to leverage cross-functional teams to achieve team, project, and organizational goals.
- Solve business problems by working both autonomously and within the construct of a team in a team oriented and collaborative environment.
- Strong leadership experience within warehouse or distribution center operations
- Proven ability to lead teams in high-pressure, fast-paced environments
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization
- Experience with process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, or similar)
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data tools (Excel, WMS, reporting systems)
- Highly organized with strong project management and execution skills
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently Bi-lingual in both English and Spanish is preferred.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor Degree in Information Systems, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or any related field required
- Experience with Visio is preferred.
- Experience in Warehousing or Logistics is preferred.
- Experience with Synapse or similar WMS software is preferred.
Work Environment:
- While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment will range from quiet to moderately loud.
