Electrical Engineering Leader, P.E. – Sustainability
Tysons, VA | Full-Time | Mid-Senior Level
Overview
Build and lead an Engineering team focused on electrical system performance, safety, and reliability across facilities. Combines hands-on technical work (power studies, arc flash analysis) with team leadership, working cross-functionally with facilities, operations, and engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform arc flash hazard analysis (IEEE 1584, NFPA 70E), short-circuit, coordination, and load flow studies
- Model electrical systems using SKM, ETAP, Power Tools, or Easy Power
- Develop/update one-line diagrams; prepare arc flash reports with PPE recommendations
- Advise clients on electrical safety compliance and risk mitigation
- Guide field data collection with technicians and project managers
- Develop training materials on electrical safety/arc flash
- Build and manage a multidisciplinary engineering team
- Support proposal development and pricing for engineering scopes
Required Qualifications
- BS in Electrical Engineering (or related), 10 years experience with a leadership focus in existing buildings/infrastructure
- Active PE license (or ability to obtain)
- U.S. Citizenship required; must be able to obtain/maintain Top Secret clearance
- Valid U.S. work authorization
- Arc flash software proficiency (SKM/ETAP)
- Strong knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, OSHA standards; hands-on experience around energized equipment
- Experience with power distribution systems (primary power, lighting, fire, security, controls)
- Strong communication skills; comfortable in client-facing roles
- Occasional travel to client sites
