Vice President of Finance / Controller
Location: Houston, TX (onsite)

Compensation: $125,000 – $160,000 base salary bonus
Overview
We are partnering with a growing IT equipment company supporting large enterprise clients. As the organization continues to scale, they are seeking a hands-on VP of Finance / Controller to lead core accounting operations while also driving financial planning and analysis. Ideally having experience with small companies/teams and must be very hands-on!
This role will serve as a key financial leader within the organization, responsible for ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, building scalable processes, and providing actionable insights to support business decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and financial reporting
- Lead and manage the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls, policies, and procedures
- Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Own budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
- Partner with leadership to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making
- Monitor cash flow, working capital, and overall financial health of the business
- Support audits and manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and banking partners
- Build and scale financial infrastructure to support company growth
Qualifications
- 10-15 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance, with at least 3-5 years of leadership responsibilities
- Prior experience in a Controller or VP-level finance role within a small to mid-sized company
- Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis (FP&A)
- Hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves mentality with the ability to operate both strategically and tactically
- Experience in technology, IT services, asset management, or related industries is a plus but not required
- CPA a plus
