Role Description
We are seeking a disciplined and analytical Equity Options Trader to manage and optimize the execution of complex options strategies. You will be responsible for routing, monitoring, and executing order flow while minimizing market impact and slippage. This role requires knowledge of market microstructure, derivatives pricing, and execution platforms. You will work closely with portfolio managers and the investment team to ensure seamless trade lifecycles. You will also collaborate with the broader investment team to design investment strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Trade Execution: Execute complex options orders efficiently across multiple platforms.
- Order Routing: Optimize order routing strategies to maximize fill rates and minimize transaction costs (slippage).
- Market Monitoring: Continuously monitor market liquidity, volatility, order books, and macroeconomic news.
- Algorithmic Trading: Utilize and fine-tune execution algorithms.
- Risk Management: Monitor real-time portfolio Greeks, margin requirements, and operational risk boundaries.
- Post-Trade Analysis: Conduct Transaction Cost Analysis (TCA) to evaluate and improve execution performance.
- Relationship Management: Maintain and manage relationships with broker-dealers, market makers, and liquidity providers.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: 3–5 years of professional experience trading or executing options at a hedge fund, proprietary trading firm, or asset manager.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with institutional trading platforms (e.g., Bloomberg, Flextrade, RealTick) and execution management systems (EMS/OMS).
- Coding (Preferred): Basic to advanced proficiency in Python, SQL, or VBA for data analysis and trade automation.
- Market Knowledge: Deep understanding of derivatives pricing models (Black-Scholes), implied volatility surfaces, and exchange rules.
- Attributes: Exceptional focus, ability to perform under high-pressure market conditions, and strong mathematical intuition.
