Plant Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Plant Manager to oversee operations across two plant nurseries and one landscaping supply store in Southern California. This role is ideal for a strong leader with deep horticultural knowledge, operational expertise, and the ability to manage multi-site teams while driving efficiency, plant quality, and customer satisfaction.

Location: Onsite – Sylmar, Gardena & Inglewood, CA

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations across two nursery locations and one landscaping supply store
• Ensure high-quality plant care, including growing, fertilizing, pruning, and inventory maintenance
• Manage landscaping supply inventory, merchandising, and stock levels
• Maintain accurate inventory systems across all locations
• Lead, train, and supervise a team of 10–14 employees, including scheduling and performance management
• Drive sales by supporting customer service, product knowledge, and upselling opportunities
• Ensure all locations are clean, organized, and operating efficiently
• Coordinate logistics, deliveries, and inter-location inventory transfers
• Implement and improve operational processes and workflows
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and local regulations
• Partner with ownership/leadership on business goals, staffing needs, and growth initiatives

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of management experience in nursery, landscaping, or related industry
• 5 years of experience in horticulture, nursery operations, or landscaping supply
• Strong knowledge of plant care, growing cycles, irrigation, and seasonal inventory
• Experience managing multi-site operations preferred
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) required
• Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in outdoor environments and lift/move plant materials as needed
• Ability to travel to Sylmar, Gardena, and Inglewood
