Duties
- Mow lawns using push mowers, riding mowers, or other lawn equipment to ensure neat and even grass coverage.
- Trim trees, shrubs, and hedges with hand tools or power tools to maintain proper shape and health.
- Perform landscape maintenance tasks such as planting flowers, mulching beds, and installing hardscape features like pathways or patios.
- Operate machinery including excavators and other construction equipment for site preparation or landscape installation projects.
- Maintain irrigation systems by inspecting, repairing, and adjusting sprinklers to ensure proper watering schedules.
- Conduct snow plowing during winter months to keep pathways clear and safe for clients.
- Use hand tools such as shovels, rakes, pruners, and hoes for various gardening and landscaping tasks.
- Assist with tree care activities including trimming, pruning, and planting to promote healthy growth.
- Perform routine maintenance on power tools and landscaping equipment to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Support overall garden health through horticultural practices like fertilizing, aerating soil, and pest control.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated mechanical knowledge related to landscaping machinery and hand tools.
- Prior experience in lawn care, landscape maintenance, or gardening preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential.
- Familiarity with landscaping techniques including hardscape installation and horticulture principles.
- Ability to operate power tools safely and efficiently; experience with excavators is a plus.
- Knowledge of tree care practices such as trimming and pruning to maintain safety and aesthetic appeal.
- Strong physical stamina with the ability to stand, walk, lift heavy objects, and perform outdoor work in various weather conditions.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
