AP/AR Specialist

Job Overview:

RJ Lawn & Landscape is looking for an AP/AR Specialist to own invoicing, collections, vendor payments, and cash application with accuracy, urgency, and great service. If you're the kind of accounting pro who loves clean books, clear processes, and getting paid on time--this is a high-ownership role with visibility, stability, and room to improve how work gets done.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own end-to-end accounts receivable: customer setup, contract/service setup, monthly invoicing, statements, and collections follow-up.
• Drive timely resolution of billing and payment questions by partnering with customers and internal teams (operations/sales).
• Manage cash application: post checks/ACH, reconcile customer payments, and administer autopay in Global/Include.
• Own end-to-end accounts payable: receive invoices, validate approvals, code to GL/department/job, post and process payments (including ACH).
• Support month-end close: ensure entries are complete in financial software, assist with reconciliations, and maintain clean supporting documentation.
• Support fixed assets processes: record vehicle/equipment purchases, set up assets in systems, and maintain schedules and monthly payment tracking.
• Improve workflows, and AI-enabled tools--without sacrificing accuracy or controls.
• Assist in financial analysis, production support, and special projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• 2 years of hands-on AP and AR experience
• Strong accounting fundamentals (GL coding, reconciliations, and attention to internal controls)
• Strong communication and customer service skills; able to handle sensitive information professionally
• Strong organization and follow-through; comfortable managing multiple deadlines
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365; able to learn new systems quickly and leverage AI-enabled tools responsibly
• Ability to pass a Background21 check

Preferred Qualifications:

• Job-cost or project-based accounting experience
• Experience with payment platforms/autopay and high-volume cash posting
• Experience with accounting/ERP systems and document workflows

Measures of Success:

• AR stays current and aging trends improve through consistent follow-up and issue resolution.
• Invoices go out accurately and on time; customers receive clear documentation.
• AP is processed accurately and on time with clean GL coding and strong controls.
• Month-end close support is timely with complete, audit-ready documentation.
• Low error rate; proactive communication and ownership of outcomes.
