Heavy Equipment Operator
Our organization is seeking an experienced heavy equipment operator with specific experience in heavy metal recycling. Must be willing to travel.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Exceptional equipment operating knowledge and skills
- Maintain equipment – grease, daily inspections, safety, etc.
- Contribute to a positive team spirit
- Regularly communicate with project manager
- Maintain a clean, safe, work area in compliance with corporate & OSHA standards
- Organize materials and safely load trucks to be shipped offsite
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, graders, backhoes, and skid steers.
- Valid driver's license; CDL preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of safe equipment operation and workplace safety regulations.
- Ability to inspect equipment, identify maintenance needs, and report repairs.
- Experience reading site plans, grade stakes, and project specifications preferred.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Capable of lifting up to 40 pounds and performing physical labor as needed.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Reliable attendance and ability to work overtime, weekends, or extended shifts when required.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience processing, sorting & grading scrap metal
- Interior and exterior demolition knowledge
