Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Diesel Technician/Mechanic to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty equipment, including industrial machinery, farm equipment, and commercial vehicles. Your expertise will ensure that all equipment operates efficiently, safely, and reliably. Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, air brakes, suspension, and HVAC systems using schematics and electronic testing tools.
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, trailers, and other industrial machinery.
- Fabricate parts or modify existing components using power tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques, and hand tools to meet specific operational needs.
- Complete mechanical repairs including brake repair, shocks & struts replacement, wheel alignments, tire service, and suspension work.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems and perform electrical repairs on heavy equipment and vehicle wiring harnesses.
- Maintain detailed service records and ensure all work complies with safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
- Assist in assembly or disassembly of equipment components during repairs or upgrades while adhering to safety protocols.
Experience
- Proven mechanic experience with a strong background in automotive diagnostics and heavy equipment repair.
- Dealership experience is highly preferred for familiarity with manufacturer-specific systems.
- Hands-on experience with fabrication, welding, soldering, and use of power tools is essential.
- Knowledge of schematics for electrical wiring diagrams and hydraulic systems is required.
- Experience operating heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, or farm machinery is a significant advantage.
- Ability to perform routine maintenance tasks including tire service, brake repair, alignment checks, shocks & struts replacement, and HVAC servicing.
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients and team members.
