Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Welder/Mechanic to join our dynamic fabrication and maintenance team serving the above ground mining industry. In this role, you will be responsible for performing precise welding and mechanical repairs on a variety of metal materials and components, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency on construction sites and within fabrication shops. Your expertise will help us deliver durable, high-quality metal structures and assemblies that meet industry standards. Responsibilities
- Perform various welding processes including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), , FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding).
- Use measuring instruments such as measuring tapes and shop math to ensure precise dimensions during fabrication and assembly.
- Operate power tools, hand tools, plasma cutters, pipe threading machines, and other equipment safely to cut, shape, and assemble metal materials including sheet metal and structural components.
- Fabricate, repair, and assemble metal structures or parts on construction sites or within fabrication shops while adhering to safety protocols at all times.
- Interpret technical drawings accurately for metal fabrication, pipe threading, assembly, and mechanical repairs.
- Maintain a clean work environment by following safety procedures, inspecting tools regularly, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
Requirements
- Proven construction site experience with a solid understanding of metal fabrication processes.
- Proficiency in multiple welding techniques including MIG, FCAW, SMAW, and knowledge of welding standards.
- Ability to read blueprints and mechanical drawings with confidence; experience interpreting technical drawings is essential.
- Familiarity with measuring instruments such as tape measures, and shop math for precise measurements.
- Mechanical knowledge related to assembly, pipe threading, plasma cutting, sheet metal fabrication, and mechanical blueprint interpretation.
- Experience working with power tools and hand tools safely.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols related to welding operations and construction site activities.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team while maintaining attention to detail under tight deadlines.
- MSHA certifications/Knowledge is a plus
Pay: $26.00 - $28.00 per hour
