About the Opportunity
Our client, a well-established civil construction contractor, is looking to add a skilled Project Manager to oversee underground utility infrastructure projects throughout Arizona. The work includes installation and rehabilitation of water distribution systems, sanitary sewer networks, and stormwater drainage improvements for public agencies and private-sector developments.
This position plays a key role in managing projects from mobilization through completion. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing operations, coordinating project teams, maintaining budgets, ensuring schedule adherence, and serving as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders.
Primary Responsibilities
- Create and oversee project execution plans, schedules, budgets, subcontractor agreements, and billing documentation.
- Facilitate coordination meetings with owners, consultants, municipalities, subcontractors, and field personnel.
- Track project expenditures, labor productivity, equipment utilization, and material costs.
- Develop financial forecasts, monitor project performance metrics, and prepare final closeout packages.
- Ensure all construction activities align with contract requirements, approved plans, and project specifications.
- Partner closely with field leadership teams to support efficient daily operations and production goals.
- Provide routine project status updates and performance reports to company leadership.
- Promote and uphold company safety standards across all project sites.
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with clients, inspectors, suppliers, and project partners.
- Provide guidance and development opportunities for Project Engineers and Assistant Project Managers.
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.
- At least five years of project management experience within underground utility or civil infrastructure construction.
- Demonstrated success managing municipal, public works, or commercial utility projects.
- Ability to effectively oversee multiple active projects and competing priorities.
- Strong understanding of budgeting, scheduling, forecasting, and project cost management.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Experience using Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Project is highly desirable.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving history.
- Must successfully complete pre-employment and ongoing drug testing requirements.
- Spanish language skills are advantageous but not required.
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions, including high-temperature environments.
