Role Description The Mortgage Loan Processor is responsible for managing residential mortgage files from application through closing in a full-time, hybrid role based in Plantation, FL, with some work-from-home flexibility. Day-to-day responsibilities include collecting and verifying borrower documentation, reviewing loan applications for completeness and accuracy, and ensuring that files meet internal and investor guidelines. The role requires coordinating with loan officers, underwriters, title companies, and real estate professionals to resolve conditions, clear stipulations, and maintain timely communication throughout the loan process. The processor will track key milestones, monitor pipeline status, update loan records in the lending systems, and proactively identify issues that could impact approval or closing timelines. This role also supports continuous process improvements and adherence to company policies, regulatory requirements, and quality standards.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of the mortgage industry, including current regulations, loan products, and residential lending practices.
- Hands-on experience in mortgage lending and loan processing, with the ability to manage multiple files and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with underwriting principles and documentation requirements, and the ability to work effectively with underwriters to clear conditions.
- Experience handling various types of loans (e.g., conventional, FHA, VA, jumbo) and understanding associated guidelines.
- Proficiency with mortgage loan origination and processing software, as well as standard office applications.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
