Role Description The Mortgage Loan Officer is a full-time, remote role responsible for originating residential mortgage loans and guiding clients through the entire loan process. This role includes consulting with homebuyers and homeowners to assess their needs, explaining loan options, and providing clear, timely communication from initial inquiry to closing. The Mortgage Loan Officer will collect and analyze borrower documentation, coordinate with underwriting and processing teams, and ensure loans meet regulatory and company guidelines. Day-to-day tasks also involve building and maintaining relationships with REALTORS®, referral partners, and other industry professionals, as well as leveraging Rize’s technology platform to manage pipelines and deliver an efficient client experience. The role requires consistent follow-up, active pipeline management, and a commitment to education and service for all parties involved in the transaction.
Qualifications
- Experience as a Loan Officer, Mortgage Loan Originator, or similar role, with the skills needed to originate and manage residential mortgage loans.
- Strong knowledge of the Mortgage Industry, including current market trends, lending products, and regulatory requirements.
- Hands-on experience in Mortgage Lending processes, from application through closing, including coordination with processing and closing teams.
- Familiarity with Underwriting guidelines and documentation standards to help structure files for approval and identify potential issues early.
- Demonstrated Customer Service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, manage expectations, and support clients and partners throughout the loan lifecycle.
- Proficiency with mortgage LOS systems and related technology; ability to work effectively in a remote, digital-first environment.
- Strong sales, relationship-building, and networking abilities, especially with REALTORS® and referral partners.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple files and deadlines simultaneously.
- Applicable state licensing and NMLS registration required; additional state licenses are a plus.
- High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field is beneficial.
