We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically strong Quality Engineer to join our team in Fresno, California.
In this role, you will be responsible for supporting and improving our Quality Management System, ensuring our products meet the highest standards throughout manufacturing and shipping. You will work closely with production, laboratory, and quality teams to investigate issues, analyze data, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement.
- Develop, maintain, and improve internal quality systems and documentation
- Conduct internal quality audits and identify opportunities for process improvement
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 standards and customer-specific requirements
- Maintain quality records, reports, and procedures
- Analyze manufacturing and quality data using statistical methods
- Define sample sizes, confidence levels, and acceptable error rates
- Prepare reports and recommendations to improve product quality
- Investigate customer complaints and internal non-conforming products
- Lead Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) activities
- Manage credits, replacements, and corrective action follow-up
- Control internal holds and quarantine defective materials
- Set up, calibrate, and maintain quality lab equipment
- Train personnel on laboratory and inspection procedures
- Perform inventory transactions in SAP and quality databases
- Support QC Technicians and serve as backup to the Quality Manager and Quality Lead
- Develop SOPs, visual aids, and training materials
- Identify training needs to improve quality performance
- Lead improvement projects focused on product and process quality
- Promote safe and organized laboratory practices
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in quality engineering, quality control, or manufacturing
- Experience in extrusion manufacturing preferred
- Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Quality Auditor preferred
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills
- Experience with Lean Six Sigma and Statistical Process Control (SPC) preferred
- Working knowledge of Quality Management Systems and ISO standards
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and technical report writing
- Experience with measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- SAP experience preferred
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
- Self-starter with excellent attention to detail and time management skills
- Regularly lift up to 25 lbs and occasionally up to 60 lbs
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with moderate noise and moving equipment
- Willingness to work off-shifts and extended hours as needed
