What are the responsibilities and job description for the VOLUNTEER Firefighter/Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) position at Riviera Beach Volunteer Fire Company Inc.?
Join our dedicated team as a Volunteer Firefighter or Volunteer Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and become a vital part of our community’s safety and emergency response efforts. No experience necessary! Training is free to members.
In this unpaid-volunteer role, you will provide critical firefighting and medical assistance during emergencies, ensuring the safety and well-being of residents and visitors alike. RBVFC offers several benefits, including collegiate level classes/credit, income tax credits, property tax incentives, retirement benefits, access to discounts and many more!
Please note this is an unpaid, volunteer only position.
Member requirements:
- 16 years old, or older at time of application.
- Able to commit at least 8 hours a month to emergency response, training or drills.
- Submission to a FBI background check and fingerprinting.
- Ability to obtain CPR certification within 90 days (training will be provided by RBVFC free to you.)
- 8 hours of monthly service.
Benefits:
- Free college level classes through the University of Maryland Fire and Rescue Institute, including Firefighter, Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Hazardous Materials Technician, Fire Inspector, etc. These classes can be transferred for college credits to participating state and local colleges.
