Role Summary

As a Sr. Analyst for In Production Product Development, you’ll help report and drive the cost down on in production vehicles. This area is critical for the success of both consumer (R1, R2) and commercial (EDV, RCV) products. A successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate the ability to drive cost to affordable targets, build strong relationships with technical leaders, and be self-motivated to set solid financial foundations for Rivian product development spend.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with business partners including program, engineering, cost engineering, and procurement.
  • Manage Bill of Material costs. Coordinate with the engineering, procurement, and cost engineering teams to identify opportunities and flag financial risks related to bill of materials.
  • Forecast BOM and execute variance analysis compared to Accounting actuals.
  • Support month-end close process, complete timely reporting in line with Corporate Accounting policies and guidelines.
  • Execute on ad hoc analysis to support leadership decision making process; transform data into actionable insights and recommendations.

Qualifications

  • 3-6 years of work experience planning and forecasting experience, within the auto/energy industry a plus
  • Proven analytical ability and creative problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to develop effective business partner relationships
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with proven ability to interact with various management levels
  • General knowledge of accounting/financial/operational principles and theories
  • Interest in engineering systems (experience is a plus)
  • Proven experience analyzing large amounts of data and finding outliers
  • Experience in managing cost reduction programs from inception to execution
  • Strong organizational skills reflecting prioritization with a sense of urgency
  • Ability to effectively articulate financial stories in a clear and concise manner
  • Proven ability developing and improving processes to make reporting better, faster and easier
  • Strong Excel/sheets and PowerPoint/Slides skills required, experience with SQL, Oracle and SAP - plus
  • Bachelor’s degree (MBA/CPA a plus) in Finance or Engineering preferred

Pay Disclosure

Salary Range for California based applicants: $107,800 - $134,800 annually (Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location and other factors permitted by law).

 

Benefits Summary: Rivian provides robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Rivian covers most of the premiums.
