This hybrid position will see you perform as a clinician while providing support to the Director of Therapy, as needed or during their absence. As an Occupational Therapist you’ll provide treatment to patients according to the established treatment plan under the supervision of the DOT. As an Assistant Director of Therapy, you’ll assume delegated responsibility and accountability for the provision of rehabilitation services according to professional standards of practice in compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.

Your Responsibilities:
- Provides physical therapy treatments consistent with the professional and ethical standards of the A.P.T.A. for the Occupational Therapy Assistant.
- Supervises the rehabilitation department in the absence of the Director of Therapy.
- Provides documentation to maintain quality of the medical record as it relates to accuracy, continuity of care, and reimbursement guidelines.
- Coordinates with other disciplines (PT, OT, SLP) for effective total patient care.
- Provides leadership and direction to interdisciplinary team for patient discharge planning, following Medicare guidelines.
- Strong written and communication skills to develop reports, correspondence, and analysis.
- Strong verbal communication skills to educate, influence and support rehabilitation staff and other disciplines.
- Ability to understand and react effectively to the needs of the various clinical age populations significant to everyday practice, evidenced through academic/clinical education and training and/or experience.
- Successful completion of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
- Experience in a Skilled Nursing or Post-Acute Rehabilitation Facility.
- Ability to exercise mature judgment and initiative in analyzing problems and recommending solutions to provide effective rehabilitation services.
