What are the responsibilities and job description for the Principal Software Developer position at Rivet?
- Develop, maintain, and provide helpdesk support for ALD software.
- Develop and maintain supply warehouse automation software, and design and maintain ALD web pages and applications.
- Create and maintain comprehensive help files for all developed software and apply knowledge of multiple coding languages.
- Produce static code reviews and participate in the RMF process for all developed software.
- Analyze and identify root causes of technical issues, triage them, and provide timely workarounds and solutions.
- Provide training to ALD staff on office productivity software and daily end-user support for all developed applications.
- Enforce secure system foundations in support of the RMF, by translating compliance frameworks into technical requirements.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and how they apply to DoD operational security (OPSEC) policy.
- U.S. citizenship and ability to maintain a Secret security clearance.
- Experience to meet one of these qualifications is desired:
- A minimum of 14 years’ general experience with an associate’s degree.
- A minimum of 12 years’ general experience with a bachelor’s degree.
- A minimum of 10 years’ general experience with a master’s degree.
- Demonstrated experience developing, designing, implementing, testing, and evaluating software and systems, applying computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis principles, including data pipeline, database schema, and API development.
- Experience providing technical support, influencing solution direction, and resolving complex technical issues through root-cause analysis.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Physical Requirements:
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Position may require typing and reading from a computer screen. Must have sufficient mobility, including but not limited to bending, reaching, and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner. There is a possibility that due to parking availability and location of work, walking moderate to long distance may be required. Possible lifting up to 40 lbs.
