About the Position:
The Referrals Specialist is responsible for coordinating and managing patient referrals and appointment requests to ensure a seamless and efficient process that supports patient care and satisfaction. This individual will serve as a critical liaison between patients, providers, insurance companies, and external healthcare facilities, ensuring timely and accurate referral processing.

Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience in patient access, medical office administration, or a related healthcare role is strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes.
- Proficiency in using EHR systems (Epic experience preferred).
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, staff, and external partners.
- Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Riverwood Healthcare Center is a 25-bed Critical Access hospital with three full-service clinics in Aitkin, McGregor, and Garrison. Riverwood has recently expanded its footprint in Aitkin with a state-of-the-art surgical center.
