About the Position:
The Infusion/Chemotherapy Nurse is responsible for delivering high-quality, compassionate, and patient-centered nursing care in an outpatient or clinical infusion setting. This role involves the safe preparation and administration of chemotherapy, immunotherapy, blood products, hydration, and other prescribed infusions. The nurse plays a key role in patient assessment, education, and follow-up care, ensuring that services are delivered in accordance with current standards, policies, and best practices. The nurse must be skilled in managing side effects, handling infusion equipment, and collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals. Care is provided with attention to age-specific needs and patient safety across the lifespan.
What we are looking for:
Education and Experience:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Minnesota.
- Previous experience in infusion or oncology nursing.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- Current RN license or valid work permit from the Minnesota Board of Nursing.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Completion of Chemotherapy/Biotherapy training required to administer chemotherapy (ONS "Fundamentals of Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy Administration"). Must be completed prior to completion of orientation.
- Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Certification (ONS course and certificate). If not current, must be able to obtain within one year of hire.
