Responsibilities
- Administer medications accurately following physician orders and established protocols
- Monitor and record vital signs, patient symptoms, and responses to treatments
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including hygiene, mobility, and feeding assistance
- Document all patient interactions and care activities using EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner
- Maintain detailed and accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Support patients with specialized needs such as tube feeding, catheter care, and medication administration
- Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Provide compassionate care tailored to patients with dementia, Alzheimer's, or other memory-related conditions
- Ensure a safe environment by adhering to infection control protocols and safety standards
- Assist with medical procedures requiring physiology or anatomy knowledge
Qualifications
- Valid certification as a Med Tech or similar credential recognized by state licensing boards
- Experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home health care preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology, documentation practices, and electronic health record systems (EMR/EHR) such as Epic or Cerner
- Familiarity with caring for patients with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, hospice needs, or disabilities
- Strong understanding of vital signs measurement, medication administration, catheter care, and tube feeding procedures
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations including seniors and individuals with developmental disabilities
- Excellent communication skills and a compassionate approach to patient care
- Compliance with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and privacy
