We are seeking a Patient Care Assistant, sometimes referred to as a Nurse Aide or a Patient Care Partner (PCP). Our Patient Care Assistant (Coronary PCA ) will provide general patient care and assistance to the Registered Nurse overseeing the unit.
Responsibilities
- Support patients with daily living activities, deliver basic nursing care, and help maintain a safe environment while working under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse overseeing the team or unit
- Carry out general PCA responsibilities such as recording vital signs, assisting with bathing, feeding, toileting, repositioning, collecting specimens, and transporting patients while maintaining monitoring connections
- Monitor Coronary equipment, observe rhythm strips, recognize alarms, and alert nurses to changes such as arrhythmias or abnormal heart rates
- Assist with lead and wire care , replac e or secur e connections, ensur e monitors stay accurate and troubleshoot any issues that may interrupt monitoring
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), state approved Certification required.
- Current Phlebotomy certification upon hire, preferred.
- Current EKG certification upon hire, preferred.
- Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
- Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.
- Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred.
