The Clinical Lab Scientist III (CLS III) will hold a more advanced role with technical oversite responsibilities. - If you are a licensed Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Medical Technologist (MT) you are encouraged to apply for this position.
Responsibilities Section
- P erform a wide variety of laboratory procedures requiring independent judgment using both manual and automated methods in Hematology, Blood Bank, Chemistry, Urinalysis, Coagulation, Microbiology, Immunology, and any other discipline as introduced into the laboratory
- I nterpret lab test results and identify any abnormalities, ensure the accuracy and reliability of these results to assist doctors in making informed decisions about patient care
- E xecute and oversee complex laboratory tests on blood, tissues, and other bodily fluids , this may include both routine and specialized tests, that requir e a higher level of expertise
- M entor junior laboratory staff and technicians, provide guidance, and ensure adherence to protocols and standards, you may also be responsible for training new employees
- R eview quality control performance , ensur e documentation of corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory's established performance specifications
- I mplement and monitor quality control procedures to maintain high standards in laboratory testing, you may also calibrate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment
- K eep accurate and detailed records of all laboratory tests performed and their results , input data into our laboratory information systems
- E nsure all laboratory operations comply with hospital policies, governmental regulations, and accreditation requirements
Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers . You must have:
- Minimum five years of hospital laboratory work experience required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in chemical, physical, biological health science or Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited institution, or other educational requirements stated in CLIA (42 CFR 493.1461).
- Current and Valid State License if the laboratory is located in a state where required.
- ASCP certification, or equivalent, preferred.
