Responsibilities
- Plan and organize engaging activities that cater to residents’ interests, abilities, and care needs, including recreational therapy sessions and social events
- Assist residents with daily living activities (ADLs), such as mobility, dressing, and personal hygiene, ensuring comfort and dignity
- Collaborate with care teams to develop personalized activity plans that support memory care, Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, and aging issues counseling
- Manage activity schedules efficiently to ensure timely execution of events and programs
- Facilitate group activities that promote social interaction, cognitive stimulation, and physical activity for seniors and individuals with disabilities
- Maintain accurate records of participation, resident preferences, and progress related to recreational activities
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, and community partners to enhance engagement and address individual needs
Qualifications
- Prior experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or long-term care environments is highly preferred
- Knowledge of Alzheimer’s care, memory care strategies, dementia care practices, and senior care principles
- Strong event planning skills with the ability to create diverse recreational programs tailored to various abilities
- Excellent communication skills to connect with residents of all ages and backgrounds
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in home & community care settings is advantageous
- Ability to assist residents with ADLs while maintaining patience and compassion
- Familiarity with scheduling management tools and documentation procedures related to activity planning
