Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Carpenter to spearhead our construction projects with energy, precision, and expert oversight. Duties
- Lead and coordinate all phases of construction projects, including deck framing, porch builds, complete outdoor living spaces, and exterior remodeling efforts.
- Oversee and execute the installation of projects with special focus on quality craftsmanship.
- Interpret technical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and construction plans to guide project execution accurately when needed.
- Manage construction site activities by scheduling installations, ordering materials, and utilizing power tools and heavy equipment safely and effectively.
- Supervise and mentor team members in the proper use of hand tools, power tools, and heavy machinery while enforcing safety standards.
- Conduct dimensional measurements and quality inspections to verify work aligns with specifications and technical drawings and requests from our clients.
- Coordinate with project managers to ensure timely completion of milestones while maintaining a safe work environment.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction, framing, material knowledge and overall project knowledge.
- Extensive hands-on experience with framing and deck installation, framing (including deck and porch additions framing), trim carpentry and composite installation.
- Proficiency in operating heavy equipment such as excavators and skid steer is not necessary but helpful.
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to heavy lifting, working at heights on roofing or scaffolding, and the use of hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to perform precise measurements using tape measures or laser tools; experience with woodworking and restoration projects is a plus.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple teams on-site while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
- Excellent communication skills for interpreting technical instructions clearly and coordinating with clients or project stakeholders.
