Physician Assistant

Description Job Responsibilities • Perform preoperative assessments and support patient optimization. • Participate in postoperative management, follow-up, and care coordination. • Assist with consultative support and continuity of care planning. • Provide patient and family education related to procedures and recovery. • Order, review, and interpret diagnostic tests, treatments, and medications within scope. • Support operating room throughput and patient flow optimization. • Assist with urgent and emergent add-on coordination. • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, nursing, PAT, sterile processing, and scheduling teams to remove barriers to efficient case progression. • Assist in day-of-surgery issue escalation and operational problem solving. • Perform first assist duties consistent with privileges and regulatory requirements. • Provide intraoperative assistance, tissue handling, retraction, suturing, wound closure, and related support. • Assist with development and standardization of clinical pathways and perioperative protocol • Complete timely, accurate clinical documentation in the electronic health record. Education Requirements • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program. Experience Requirements • Surgical services or perioperative experience preferred. • First assist experience preferred. • Experience supporting operative services operations, throughput, or quality initiatives preferred. License/Certification Requirements • Current Physician Assistant-Certified (PA-C) credential • Controlled Substances Registration license in the state of Indiana • Basic Life Safety (American Heart Association) • ACLS (American Heart Association) Qualifications Education Masters or better in Physician Assistant Studies or related field. Bachelors or better in Physician Assistant Studies or related field. Licenses & Certifications BLS- Basic Life Support Controlled Substance Reg Physician Assistant
