Early Childhood Parent & Family Engagement Leader

Qualifications:

1. A valid state certificate in Early Childhood Education 
2. Master’s degree preferred
3. At least five years of successful classroom teaching experience in Early Childhood
4. Experience in providing parent programs and services preferred
5. Skills in human relations, leadership and conflict management
6. Outstanding collaboration, organization, and communication skills

Job Goal: Provide education and support services to families of children ages 0-5

Reports to: Executive Director of Elementary Education

Job Responsibilities:

1. Participates in state-wide and district-wide professional learning
2. Performs all duties within the framework of school board policies, administrative regulations, regulations of the State Board of Education and state and federal laws
3. Supports the parenting programs and efforts at the school level
4. Supports the district screening for annual 4K enrollment  
5. Conducts parent groups on a regular basis for families of enrolled students in FMSD 4K programs
6. Coordinates family workshops, learning nights, and conferences focused on early childhood development, literacy, and kindergarten readiness
7. Provides assistance to Adult Education Program to include Family Literacy
8. Coordinates and conducts home visits and maintains case management records
9. Supports Home Visitor with their roles and responsibilities
10. Serves as a liaison between families, school and social agencies
11. Serves on agency boards as requested
12. Participates in professional organizations and maintains appropriate certifications
13. Evaluates program as required by grants and agencies
14. Performs other reasonable duties assigned by supervisor

Terms of Employment: 195 Day Teacher’s Contract, Exempt.

Salary determined by the district pay scale 

Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the board’s policy on evaluation of professional personnel.
