Riverview Center for Growth is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse to collaborate with prescribers, behavioral health staff, school children and staff and community providers to deliver high-quality psychiatric and medical care at our Springfield, OR location ( surrounding areas).

General Duties:

• Monitor and record vital signs during clinic and classroom visits.
• Assist with prior authorization requests.
• Complete records request processes for clients referred to psychiatry.
• Respond to daily telephone inquiries.
• Manage prescription refill requests.
• Update medication information in the EHR (Credible) and maintain accurate medication records.
• Prepare records and information for outside providers as needed.
• Maintain prescriber schedules and assist with client scheduling concerns and questions.
• Act as liaison between RCG, Primary Care Providers, pharmacies, psychiatrists, and other medical or behavioral health providers.
• Facilitate coordination and implementation of medical recommendations.
• Order laboratory tests and monitor results.
• Assist with DHS medication consents.
• Train designated staff on safe medication administration procedures and provide ongoing competency support.
• Verify that all required provider orders and parent/guardian consents are obtained prior to medication administration.
• Review all medication labels to ensure accuracy of medication name, dosage, route, prescribing provider, and administration schedule.
• Conduct monthly medication audits by reconciling the Electronic Medication Administration Record (eMAR) with medication inventories and classroom medication binders.
• Ensure all medications, including routine, PRN, and over-the-counter medications, are accurately documented in the eMAR and EHR.
• Oversee adherence to medication administration policies and provide guidance to staff regarding proper medication administration procedures.
• Determine appropriate action for missed or late medication doses in consultation with prescribing providers, supervisors, or therapists, when appropriate.
• Oversee the safe disposal of expired, discontinued, dropped, or otherwise unusable medications in accordance with agency policy and state regulations, ensuring proper witnessing and documentation.
• Manage discontinued medications by removing them from the eMAR, notifying parents or guardians, coordinating medication return, and ensuring timely disposal when necessary.
• Maintain classroom medication binders, including medication administration records, physician orders, consent forms, medication side effect information, and medication transfer documentation.
• Coordinate with health care providers regarding medication orders, prescription changes, and clarification of treatment plans.
• Monitor compliance with Oregon Administrative Rule 581-021-0037 and agency medication policies and recommend updates or improvements as needed.
• Maintain complete, accurate, and timely documentation in the agency's electronic health record.
• Assist classroom staff with medical emergencies.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, families, coworkers, community partners, and medical providers.
• Participate in staff meetings, agency training, and professional development activities.
• Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and agency policies.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor or Master’s degree in Nursing (BSN/MSN) or an active Oregon RN license
• 2 years of nursing experience in a Mental Health or Family Practice setting
• Working knowledge of EHR systems (Credible) and Google Suite
• Knowledge of mental health nursing principles, psychotropic medications, and crisis intervention strategies
• Ability to work effectively with children and their families
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, along with a courteous and professional demeanor
• Lift up to 40 lbs, and travel to off-campus day treatment sites
