BAR MANAGER
JOB TITLE: BAR MANAGER
Reports to: Food and Beverage Director
Oversees: Bartenders
SUMMARY:
The Bar Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all bar and beverage related services throughout the club in addition to scheduled bartending shifts. This includes beverage cart, pool bar and the clubhouse for both a la carte service, banquets, and member events.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Responsible for training new bartenders as well as assist in the hiring process.
2. Presenting new ideas to keep up with upcoming bar trends.
3. Host training sessions to ensure staff understands basic drink ingredients.
4. Create seasonal cocktail menu and train bartenders on how to create them.
5. Ensure consistency amongst all bartenders regarding portion size, recipes, and glassware.
6. Meets with sales representatives to discuss the potential to add new items to the menu.
7. Assist in the Wine Locker Program.
8. Help plan and execute beer and wine events at the club.
9. Organize and maintain stock rooms.
10. Communicate with the kitchen regarding bar supplies.
11. Assist in the ordering of beer, wine, liquor, and soda/juice products.
12. Anticipate the needs of the bar for upcoming events. Assign bartenders task to do in anticipation of upcoming events.
13. Train both banquet and a la carte servers on proper wine service techniques.
14. Update whiteboards in kitchen with any changes to our beverage services such as new items added.
15. Ensure bar cleanliness and stocking of product is up to standard.
16. Ensure the workspace is up to health code standards.
17. Ensure products being delivered and signed for are what invoice reflects.
18. Oversee breakdown and set up of banquet bars and assist in tracking what products are being sold.
19. Fill in as an extra set of hands for service staff when time allows. Offer to drop drinks, start tables off, etc. Make sure Riverton’s steps of service are being met and members are serviced in a timely fashion.
20. Provide beginning and ending inventory when events require one. Ensure all bartenders are following those same steps.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
1. Must possess leadership and strong communication skills with the ability to promote a positive work environment.
2. Must be focused on working on behalf of the membership.
3. Must lead by example and hold teammates accountable for any unacceptable behavior i.e. restocking bars, lateness etc.
ORGANIZATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Bar Manager: reports to, keeps informed of, obtains approval as required on matters pertinent to upholding quality standards and expenditures.
2. Club Members, their families, and guests: welcome, attend to their needs, organize and lead dining room and banquet room activities, with responsibility for their pleasure and safety, and handle all complaints in a warm, conciliatory manner- ensure to notify management team of any and all complaints.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
This individual must have a minimum of 5 years in a bartending position in addition to a strong understanding of the Private Country Club culture. Possess a strong understanding of wine, liquor, and beer knowledge.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $50.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
