What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tire Servicer ***Effective 07/01/2026 position at RIVERSIDE TRANSIT AGENCY?
Please be advised that this may involve assignment at either our Riverside or Hemet locations. Applicants must be available to work all weekdays, including weekends, holidays, and all shifts.

Some duties shall include, but not be limited to:
- Mounting and changing, repairing, rotating, and inspecting tires.
- Performs routine inspection of tires to check proper air pressure, tread depth and free of any damage.
- The successful candidate must be self-motivated.
- Able to properly match tires on vehicles.
- Work with minimal supervision.
- Provide an itemized and comprehensive schedule of work on a daily basis to supervision.
- Cleaning, painting and maintaining wheels and other related tasks as assigned.
- Keeping up maintenance, inventory records, and constant communication with the tire contractor to ensure tires are picked up regularly to minimize vehicle downtime.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
The candidate must have received a diploma from high school or its equivalent such as a GED, and must have at least one (1) year experience in the maintenance of heavy duty equipment. Preferred, but not required: Knowledge of state and federal laws regulating tire conditions, the ability to safely perform heavy manual labor by operating the tire mounting machine; the ability to safely break tires down using proper methods; and capable of learning and following procedures both oral and written
Must possess a valid non-restricted California driver's license and be able to obtain a Class B license and medical certificate within ninety (90) days of employment.

- Past year performance record will be reviewed:
- Discipline other than attendance & accidents - only 1 written warning in last year. Excludes accidents and attendance, which are described below.
- Must have zero additional disciplinary actions, i.e. no:
- Further Written Warnings
- Final Warnings
- Suspension
- Must have no more than 1 Late Arrival within the last 12 months.
- Must have no more than 1 Attendance Point in the last year.
- Preventable Accidents - only 1 written warning within the last year.
- Performance Appraisal ratings must be at or above "Meets Standards."
- Applications to transfer to a different department, will be accepted once the 120 day probationary period has been successfully completed.
