What are the responsibilities and job description for the SHIPPING CLERK position at Riverside Mfg LLC?
Responsible to prepare shipments for pick-up by carrier specified on the purchase order with accuracy.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
- Counts, inspects, verifies and packs all outgoing shipments.
- Prepares shipping materials as necessary to pack product into containers, affix labels, and place into cartons, totes, on skids, or other storage devices in an accurate manner as required by the customer.
- Counts, weighs, measures, and/or identifies parts and part numbers for verification of shipment accuracy and inventory control.
- Operates the hand-truck and fork-lift, to move materials to departments, appropriate locations and be able to load/unload trucks as necessary for shipments incoming and/or outgoing.
- Communicates with purchasing as necessary to keep an adequate supply of shipping materials on hand.
- Communicates and works closely with Shipping Coordinator and Manager to prepare and ship outgoing materials/products.
- Determine and read the correct labeling requirements associated with correct part numbers and paperwork.
- Maintains compliance of the companies shipping and inventory processes and procedures.
- Complies with all work instructions, safety policies, and standards of conduct.
- Maintains general housekeeping and organization of parts and equipment in the finished goods and dock areas.
- Performs other duties as assigned including assisting co-workers as needed and working in other departments depending on production and department demands.

- Must be US Person - US Citizen, Permanent Resident or Asylum Seeker
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or GED required. Prior manufacturing experience and/or related job experience with prior shipping experience preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will frequently be required to lift, bend, stoop, squat, walk, push and pull parts, boxes, totes, and other part containers.
Additionally, the employee is occasionally required to stand; sit; utilize hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee regularly uses arms to reach upward and/or outward, bends to pick up boxes and parts, and twists body from side to side.
