Responsibilities:
- Respond to a high volume of patient calls daily providing timely resolution of billing matters by using active listening skills and thoroughly investigating the account history and transactions.
- Effectively communicate complex health insurance billing requirements such as out of network coverage, billing limitations, non-covered charges, co-insurance and deductible provisions, late charge policies, procedure or lifetime max benefits, explanation of benefits and electronic remittance advises.
- Identify correspondences that need to be worked as a STAT request and forward to appropriate Customer Service II representative to be completed.
- Effective communication of Riverside's collection at time of service policy and the identification of patients with financial needs.
- Cover the cashier office for scheduled days off as well as any unplanned absence of the cashier.
- Collects payments for various facility departments, prepares appropriate documentation to record the transaction or receipt of payment, count money or change and verifies amounts to reconcile and balance cash drawers at the end of the day.
- Accurate and timely posting of all incoming correspondence and mail returns.
- Accurately and timely posting of all payments .
- Assist All beneficiaries and/or their agents comprehend provider bills, and correspondence from providers.
- Comprehensive understanding and delivery of Riverside's charity care and collection practices.
- Knowledge and efficient use of resources available to assist with various types of telephone inquiries (i.e., charge problems, patient complaints, marketing campaigns, etc.)
- Manage incoming telephone lines and/or walk-in customers, performing financial counseling and/or collection at time of service.
