Position Overview
We are seeking a dependable, compassionate, and patient-focused Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team on a part-time or per diem basis. The ideal candidate will be professional, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment while providing excellent patient care and support to providers.
Bilingual Spanish-speaking candidates are preferred.
Responsibilities
- Room and prepare patients for examinations and procedures
- Obtain and document vital signs, medical histories, and other relevant patient information
- Assist providers with examinations and minor procedures
- Prepare and maintain examination rooms and clinical supplies
- Perform basic clinical tasks within the scope of training and applicable regulations
- Assist with patient scheduling, referrals, and follow-up
- Document patient information accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Communicate professionally and compassionately with patients and families
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and clinic policies
- Perform other clinical and administrative duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Medical Assistant certification preferred, depending on applicable requirements
- Previous medical office or clinical experience preferred
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology and clinical procedures
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable, organized, and detail-oriented
- Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred
- Reliable attendance and punctuality are required
- Reliable transportation is required
