Job Summary
The Health and Wellness Director plays a pivotal role in overseeing the health and wellness programs within our organization. This leadership position is responsible for ensuring that all health services are delivered effectively, maintaining high standards of care, and advocating for the rights and well-being of residents. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of healthcare regulations, particularly in assisted living and home care settings, while demonstrating strong leadership qualities to guide a dedicated team.
Duties
- Manage the health care of all residents, including the dissemination of information from the house primary care physicians, ER and hospital social workers, and third-party providers when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with AHCA assisted living regulations and standards.
- Oversee each resident’s service plan according to the individualized needs of the resident, as prescribed by physician in the AHCA 1823 plan of care. Provides resident and family guidance in the case of a change in status.
- Monitor and maintain resident records to ensure accuracy of Healthcare Assessments, DNR’s and Medication Observation Records.
- Observe residents; record significant conditions and reactions; and notify physician, home health and/or hospice of resident’s reaction to drugs, treatment, and significant incidents.
- Act as a liaison with third party vendors for ongoing assessments of residents’ physical and psychological needs and coordinates with RC staff from all aspects to assure quality, proactive care.
- As appropriate, explain procedures and treatments to residents/ responsible parties to gain cooperation, understanding and allay apprehension.
- Discuss and review residents’ needs with Leadership Team
- Communicate and meet with families or designated caregivers of residents and prospective residents in a professional manner on an ongoing basis to ensure services are being provided and expectations are being met.
- Review all medication records and provide training, supervision, and monitoring of staff in the assistance of administration of medications, to include daily/weekly/monthly oversight of ERM database and cart audits.
- Accountable for the security and storage of all medication in accordance with federal and state regulations
- Develop and collaborate community resources and contacts to enhance the quality of life for residents.
- Assist in volunteer recruitment and training.
- Provides direct supervision of MT’s, LPN(s), and RCA’s which includes monitoring job performance and conducting employee performance evaluations.
- Coaches and counsels’ employees in conjunction with the ED either directly or indirectly. Conduct corrective action as needed and documents accordingly.
- Participate in facility rounds to ensure accountability of services provided.
- Participate in the monthly Manager of Duty (MOD) program as assigned by the ED
- Combined with the entire leadership team, ensure that all resident care staff abide by the residence policies and procedures.
- Upholds and strives for teamwork
- Has the ability to effectively communicate in English and understand and follow written and oral instructions.
- Advocate for resident rights and ensure that their needs are met with dignity and respect.
- Conduct regular assessments of health services provided, making improvements as needed.
- Provide leadership in emergency situations, ensuring staff are trained in critical care protocols

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
