Title: Administrative Assistant to the Director of Special Education

Reports To: Director of Special Education
Job Goal: Coordinate and perform the administrative assistant functions associated with the work of the Director of Special Education and the Special Education Department
Qualifications:
- Experience with data entry (Word, Excel, Google Suite, & Skyward)
- Ability to communicate (written/verbal), make decisions, resolve conflict, and effectively work with staff, students, and Administration
- Experience with IEP management software and ISBE regulations, preferred
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
Key Accountabilities:
- Provide secretarial and administrative support to the Director of Special Education and Special Education Division Chair
- Assist with the coordination of the Special Education Department's IEP & Staff meetings
- Keep an inventory of office supplies, generating purchase orders when necessary
- Perform general clerical functions (copying, faxing, mailing, etc.)
- Prepare a variety of reports in accordance with district, state, and federal policies
- Maintain electronic and manual files and databases
- Communicate professionally and provide customer service to all stakeholders
- All other duties as assigned
Terms of Employment:
- 12 month (260 work days) Education Support Personnel
- Paid Holidays: 15 paid holidays, as per the RBEA Collective Bargaining Agreement
- Workdays/hours: Monday through Friday, (8.5 hours, includes 30 min. unpaid lunch)
- Vacation, Sick and Personal days apply to the fiscal year (July 1 – June 30) and will be based on years of service in the District, as per RBEA Collective Bargaining Agreement
- Health and Dental insurance benefits available
- Term Life Insurance: $40,000
