Position Summary: Responsible for managing the day-to-day operation of the Environmental Services department.

Essential Job Functions:
- Adheres to guest service expectations
- Adheres to standards and operating procedures as outlined in the Rivers Casino & Resort EVS Manual
- Observes performance, provides feedback and encourages improvement
- Interview, train, recommend performance evaluations, resolve problems, provide open communication and recommend discipline/termination when appropriate
- Responsible for scheduling and payroll
- Provides clear direction in assigning and instructing EVS staff in details of work
- Develops and manages finances of EVS operations including, budget and inventory controls
- Proficiently utilizes program to submit, track, and follow-up on work orders
- Maintains the approved preventative maintenance program on all equipment
- Be familiar with and ensure safe and proper use of all equipment and chemicals
- Maintains a safety program to ensure all team members have a safe work environment
- Manages/controls/orders all supplies and inventory in the department
- Frequently reviews updates on new products and materials for continuous operational improvement
- Ensure proper usage of chemicals and cleaning supplies by monitoring usage, providing complete training for employees and ensuring proper labeling of hazardous supplies in accordance with hotel hazard communication program
- Conducts the approved departmental training program to ensure all team members are properly trained to their assigned task
- Conducts routine inspections on all casino and non-gaming EVS areas daily
- Adheres to, interpret, support, and explain established company policies and procedures as well as applicable local, state, federal and other regulatory procedures
- Must maintain the strictest confidence of any and all confidential and proprietary information disclosed by a Rivers Casino & Resort entity or by a guest of Rivers Casino & Resort
- Develops implements, maintains, and monitors an effective team member relations program through effective communication
- Fosters and maintains positive team member relations in a supportive environment and interfaces with other departments to ensure a harmonious working relationship
- Hires, trains, coaches, assess and review the job performance of subordinates including both non- exempt and exempt team members
- Continues professional development of self and subordinates as well as assist all team members with career planning and counseling as needed
- Maintains a high level of professional appearance, demeanor, ethics, and image of self and subordinates
- Conducts and attends all regular departmental meetings as well as other related meetings
- Completes and reviews all necessary reports in a timely manner to meet deadlines
- Ability to maintain a high level of energy and take a proactive and strategic approach to dealing with team member relations issues
- Ability to work independently, collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members at all levels of the organizations
- Uses diplomacy and tact to build constructive and effective relationships including during high- tension situations
- Ability to adjust or balance the size of staff on a daily basis in order to maximize productivity or control labor costs without sacrificing customer service
- Ability to obtain support for ideas and actions from subordinates, peers, or superiors in order to accomplish a task or goal
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Associate degree preferable with emphasis in management, business, finance OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 2-3 years’ experience as an EVS leader
- Knowledge and experience in management/supervision
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- Strong guest service skills
- Excellent business communication skills and strong time management skills
- Ability to adjust or balance the size of staff on a daily basis in order to maximize productivity or control labor costs without sacrificing guest service
- Ability to identify circumstances or incidents that require the notification and/or approval of others
- Fully competent in Google Suite and Microsoft Suite
- Ability to be a TEAM player
- Ability to successfully fulfill the pre-employment process
- Ability to obtain and maintain all necessary licensing
- Ability to work flexible shifts/days of the week, including holidays
Working Conditions:
- Work is performed both in an office and on the casino floor in a smoke-free environment
- Regularly required to see, talk and hear; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms; stand and walk
- Frequently required to stoop, crouch or kneel
- Hours will vary based on the monthly marketing calendar
- Holiday and weekend work schedules will also vary
- Ability to interact with others while maintaining a courteous and positive demeanor.
- Must occasionally lift and lift up to 50 pounds
