Position Overview:
Understand all aspects of the billing process for all payer types.- Review & Mail out Private Statements.
- Post ancillary charges.
- Participate in Tripe Check for Medicare and Managed Care Billing.
- Understand the collecting process for all payers’ types.
- Communicate with Residents/Family as needed.
- Complete facility statistical reports such as monthly facility statistics, daily census, licensure reports as applicable.
- Communicate with our billing company.
- Communicate with the Social Services Office, Medi-Cal and MediCare offices as needed.
- Communicate with Insurance companies, HMOs.
- Communicate with pharmacy, laboratory, X-ray, Hospice companies.
- Participate in meetings and committees such as daily stand-up, administrative, quality assurance/quality improvement, Medicare documentation review.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required

Experience:
- Prior Skilled Nursing Facility or healthcare business office experience preferred
- Customer service background, especially handling resident and family billing questions, is a plus

Technical Knowledge:
- Medical billing and coding (Medicare, Medi-Cal, private insurance)
- Accounts receivable/payable, payroll, and collections
- Electronic health records (EHR) systems and billing software
- Knowledge of Medi-Cal eligibility and benefits coordination preferred

Regulatory Knowledge:
- Understanding of Medicare/Medicaid guidelines
- HIPAA compliance and confidentiality standards
- Familiarity with state and federal healthcare regulations (Title 22 knowledge a plus)

- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Accuracy and attention to detail in financial transactions
- Effective communication with residents, families, and insurance providers
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
