Position Overview:We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Front Desk and Dental Office Assistant to join our team at RiverPark Dental. This pivotal role requires a professional and friendly individual with experience in handling front desk responsibilities, open dental software, insurance billing, and a willingness to assist in various dental office tasks. The ideal candidate will contribute to creating a positive and welcoming environment for our patients while ensuring the smooth operation of the front desk and assisting in clinical tasks as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet patients warmly and provide exceptional customer service upon their arrival, ensuring a positive first impression of the dental office.
  • Manage patient appointments efficiently, using Open Dental software, and ensure accurate scheduling to optimize the dentist's time.
  • Handle patient inquiries, both over the phone and in person, and provide clear and accurate information regarding appointments, procedures, and general inquiries.
  • Verify and update patient information, insurance details, and medical history in the electronic health records system.
  • Process insurance claims and billing, ensuring accurate documentation and timely submissions to maximize reimbursements.
  • Assist in coordinating and communicating treatment plans, costs, and payment options to patients, promoting transparency and understanding.
  • Maintain a clean and organized front desk area, ensuring that patient records and administrative materials are appropriately managed and confidential.
  • Manage and handle patient financial transactions, including copayments, deductibles, and outstanding balances.
  • Collaborate with the dental team to ensure efficient patient flow and timely assistance during treatments, including chairside assistance and sterilization as required.
  • Support the dental office in maintaining compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines, including infection control and HIPAA protocols.
  • Assist with inventory management and ordering of office supplies as needed.
  • Contribute to a positive team environment by fostering effective communication and teamwork among colleagues.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in dental assisting is a plus.
  • Proven experience in a dental office setting, with proficiency in using Open Dental software for appointment scheduling, patient records, and insurance billing.
  • Strong knowledge of dental insurance plans, claims processing, and billing procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide exceptional customer service to patients.
  • Detail-oriented and organized, capable of managing multiple tasks and responsibilities effectively.
  • Familiarity with dental terminology, procedures, and basic clinical practices.
  • Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic dental environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Reliable and punctual, with a strong work ethic and commitment to professionalism.
