Agricultural Semi-Truck Driver – Apple & Cherry Production
Position Summary
The Agricultural Semi-Truck Driver is responsible for safely transporting apples, cherries, harvest bins, equipment, and other materials in support of orchard operations. This position plays a critical role during harvest and throughout the growing season by ensuring timely movement of products and materials between orchards, storage facilities, packing houses, and customer locations. The driver will operate commercial vehicles in compliance with DOT regulations and company safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate semi-trucks and trailers to transport apples, cherries, harvest bins, and orchard-related materials.
- Move equipment and supplies between orchard locations and company facilities.
- Support harvest operations through timely transportation of fruit from field to storage or packing facilities.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report maintenance issues.
- Secure loads and ensure safe transport of products and equipment.
- Maintain accurate logs, inspection reports, and delivery documentation.
- Follow DOT regulations, company policies, and safety procedures.
- Assist with orchard operations as needed during peak production periods.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, harvest crews, and facility personnel.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A). Or Michigan Farm endorsement.
- Current DOT Medical Card.
- Clean driving record and ability to meet insurance requirements.
- Ability to work extended hours during apple and cherry harvest seasons.
- Ability to safely operate on rural roads, orchards, and agricultural work sites.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in agricultural transportation or orchard operations.
- Familiarity with apple and cherry production practices.
- Experience hauling produce, bins, equipment, or agricultural materials.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to operate forklifts, loaders, or farm equipment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent climbing, bending, and walking.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to access trailers, equipment, and loading areas safely.

Transportation Manager / Orchard Operations Manager
Pay: $800.00 - $1,400.00 per week
