EXPERIENCED PHARMACY TECHNICIAN
POSITION SUMMARY: Independent pharmacy in Durango Colorado is looking for an outgoing ROCK STAR Pharmacy Technician to join our team!! This Pharmacy Technician will assist the Pharmacist with prescription management and communicating with physicians’ offices regarding patient medications. The successful candidate for this role will communicate with patients over the phone and in-store to help find solutions to patients’ needs. All duties are performed under the supervision of the pharmacist.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Answer telephone and handle questions that do not require a pharmacist expertise
- Receive written prescriptions or telephone refill requests
- Enter prescription data into computer, print labels and prepare prescriptions for final verification by Pharmacist
- Assist patients with prescription needs as well as over-the-counter needs
- Process both compounded and traditional prescriptions
ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
- Must exhibit excellent customer service and communication skills, as the position will assist in all facets of the pharmacy’s workflow
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced community pharmacy setting
- Proficient computer skills
- Strong attention to details
- Ability to work and thrive in a team environment
- Basic math skills
- Ability to adapt to change
- Basic understanding of transactional processes and work flow.
- Experience in a community pharmacy setting required
- Sync experience a plus
- CPhT Certification will be required within 6 months, if not already certified.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Position requires standing for long periods of time
- Fast paced pharmacy setting
