Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic External Wholesaler to represent our firm’s suite of Separately Managed Accounts (SMAs) to financial advisors and investment professionals within a defined geographic territory. The ideal candidate will be a strategic sales professional with a strong understanding of investment solutions and the advisor marketplace, particularly in the high-net-worth and fee-based space.
Key Responsibilities:

Territory Management:
Build and maintain relationships with financial advisors, RIAs, wirehouses, and independent broker-dealers within your assigned territory. -
Sales Development:
Drive sales of SMA products by educating advisors on investment strategies, portfolio construction, and how our SMAs fit into client portfolios. -
Partnership with Internal Wholesaler:
Collaborate closely with an internal wholesaler to create and execute territory business plans, schedule meetings, and ensure follow-up on opportunities. -
Client Education:
Deliver compelling presentations, webinars, and one-on-one meetings to promote SMAs, providing market insights, product knowledge, and performance updates. -
Market Intelligence:
Stay informed about competitor offerings, industry trends, and client feedback to inform product development and positioning. -
Sales Reporting:
Maintain accurate and timely records of advisor interactions, pipeline activity, and territory results in Salesforce.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field.
- 5 years of external wholesaling experience, preferably with a focus on SMA or other managed accounts.
- Series 7 and 66 (or 63 and 65) licenses required.
- Deep understanding of the wealth management landscape, including advisor segments and fee-based advisory models.
- Proven track record of sales success and territory growth.
- Strong presentation, communication, and relationship management skills.
- Ability to travel extensively and work independently.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CFA or CIMA designation (or progress toward one) is a plus.
- Experience with model portfolios, UMA platforms, or tax-optimized investment strategies.
Compensation:
- Competitive base salary plus performance-based commission or bonus.
