What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant position at Riverdale Park Pediatrics?
We are currently seeking for a full-time bilingual Spanish / English) Certified Medical Assistant to work at our busy pediatric office in Riverdale MD.
MUST BE: dependable, professional in appearance and conduct, able to communicate effectively with coworkers and patients, organized and able to multi-task, a team player, great with babies, children, teens, and their parents!
Previous experience working in a Pediatric or Family Practice office would be preferable.
Duties include:
Assists providers with patient preparation for the examination and minor office procedures.
Takes patient's vitals, stocks, and cleans (e.g. examining room, lab areas, nurse station, patients’ restrooms) daily or as needed.
Performs routine labs, such as throat, urine cultures, heel and finger sticks, vision/hearing testing, nebulizer treatments.
Collects and processes specimens, complete requisitions, and documents in a logbook or other applicable forms
Returns patient’s, pharmacy, or hospital’s phone calls, translates if necessary.
Education
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
- Medical Assistant certification required
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program
- Ability to perform all medical assisting responsibilities under state and faculty guidelines
- One to Two years related medical office experience preferred.
