What are the responsibilities and job description for the 1 year Special Education Teacher position at Riverdale Elementary School?
Riverdale School is looking for a talented special educator to join our team in a one year position for the 2025-2026 school year.
Candidates must hold a Massachusetts Teacher License in Special Education. Dual certifications and prior classroom experience preferred.
Responsibilites include:
- plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences through the District curriculum with modifications and accomodations as needed.
- establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities
- use relevant technology to support instruction
- observe and evaluate student performance and development
- provide appropriate feedback on work
- encourage and monitor the progress of individual students
- maintain accurate and complete records of student progress and development
- prepare required reports on students and activities, such as. progress reports and IEPs.
- manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures
- participate in department and school meetings, parent meetings
- communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues and parents regarding student progress and student needs
- collaborate with special education stff, general education staff and support staff
