Duties
- Design and implement innovative lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards across multiple grade levels, emphasizing literacy, math, science, social studies, and physical education.
- Utilize learning management systems (LMS) and other learning technology tools to deliver engaging instruction and track student progress effectively.
- Develop creative writing exercises and activities to enhance language skills and foster expressive communication among students.
- Manage classroom behavior through effective classroom management strategies, ensuring a safe and respectful learning environment.
- Administer and prepare students for standardized testing, providing targeted tutoring and academic advising to support individual learning needs.
- Collaborate with colleagues, specialists (including special education and autism support), and parents to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and monitor student development.
- Incorporate Montessori, early childhood education principles, or other pedagogical approaches as appropriate to meet diverse learner needs.
- Proofread student work for accuracy and clarity, providing constructive feedback to promote continuous improvement.
- Support extracurricular activities such as physical education classes or after-school tutoring sessions to enrich student experiences.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field; advanced certifications or specialized training in childhood development or special education preferred.
- Proven classroom experience working with children across various age groups, including preschool or early childhood settings.
- Strong knowledge of curriculum development, lesson planning, and assessment strategies aligned with state standards.
- Experience working with students with diverse needs, including those with autism or in special education programs.
- Familiarity with LMS platforms and learning technology tools used for instructional delivery and student engagement.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and administrators.
- Demonstrated classroom management skills combined with behavior management techniques suitable for different age groups.
