The River Valley Regional Commission (RVRC), a regional development organization for sixteen counties and thirty-five municipalities in west-central Georgia, with offices in Columbus and Americus, seeks qualified candidates for the position of Area Agency on Aging Director. The Area Agency on Aging (AAA) administers Older Americans Act funding though the River Valley Region.
Responsibilities
The AAA Director is responsible for providing strategic leadership and overall management of the AAA, including personnel, financial and programmatic activities. The AAA Director is responsible for hiring, supervision, and evaluation of AAA staff; monitoring fiscal activity and budgets; and the oversight of contracts, the AAA Area Plan, and agency goals.
Reporting
This position reports to the RVRC Executive Director, with regular reports to the RVRC Council which is comprised of elected officials and private industry representatives. The successful candidate for the AAA Director position must possess strong leadership, management, interpersonal and oral/written communication skills.
Qualifications
The position requires a bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, human services, psychology, or closely related field, plus five years of supervisory experience. Salary commensurate with education and experience.
