Overview of General Responsibilities:

The Stylist is passionate about customer service and knowledgeable of the latest trends, products and hair care. The Stylist must have a desire for going above and beyond to enhance the guest’s experience.

Specific Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Styling, cutting, blow drying for men, women and children.
• Consult with guests and advise them on what would look best for their personal style, then determine which services they require to get the look they want.
• Be knowledgeable of all the services, specials, and programs offered by the Spa and Salon and RVC to enhance the guest’s experience.
• Provide exceptional service to ensure guests have a positive experience.
• Stylist will promote themselves and encourage guests to rebook before leaving.
• Maintain clean workstation at all times and wash hair coloring bowl and brushes as used.
• Assist with restocking back bar and retail products.
• Assist with daily folding and storage of linens.
• Maintain detailed records of each guest’s services to be immediately stored in the guest’s file in Millennium software.
• Attend training classes, trade shows, and courses.
• Participate in all promotional events and activities of which RVC is a part.
• Attend all departmental and RVC staff meetings.
• Acquire comprehensive knowledge of new services and programs as they are introduced, proactively promote new services and programs to guests.
  
  

Additionally: This position may be asked to assist in other areas of RVC. Cooperation is assumed. All staff members work as a team to provide superior service on which RVC bases its reputation.

Physical Demands And Work Environment

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

• Frequent standing and walking throughout shift.
• Frequent bending, kneeling, pushing, pulling, reaching.
• Frequent washing, applying shampoo, conditioners, treatments.
• Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps.
• Occasional lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds.
  
  

The work environment for a stylist is in a brightly lit salon with other stylists and nail technicians. Frequent exposure to and handling of chemicals, lotions, hair products and hot tools such as blow dryers, curling and flat irons. The environment can be hot and loud. A stylist will need possess speaking, hearing, seeing both short and long distances and use full mobility to perform services on guests.
